Betfair Poker Will Sponsor Best Tourney Player

(PRWeb) December 16, 2006 -- Betfair Poker is offering a $20,000 sponsorship deal to the best tournament player during December in its Twelve Plays of Christmas campaign.

The player performing best in the daily $15,000 and $10,000 guaranteed tournaments will become a Betfair sponsored poker pro, and become eligible for live events up to the value of $20,000.

The winner will join Betfair Poker's elite stable of pros which includes Ben "milkybarkid" Grundy, Swedish sensation Bengt Sonnert and STT supremo Thomas "Buzzer" Bhil.

"We are thinking of calling the winner 'Poker God' because only the best and most consistent performer will win. One-off lucky winners will not get a look in," said head of poker Ben Fried.

Other Twelve Plays of Christmas events include team games, bounty tournaments and the much anticipated "Snowball," a $50,000 plus freeroll tournament which begins rolling on December 1st and takes place on January 7th.

In all, $240,000 of prizes will be won by Betfair Poker customers during the month.
